Out Engineer designed a new HVAC system for an interior alteration to the East Mineola Aetna Forwarding Location. The project involved converting unused attic space to functional offices and conference room.
To the condition the proposed interior spaces, Out Engineer performed heating, cooling, and ventilation calculations. The meet project requirements, Out Engineer specified a new rooftop unit and exhaust fan. The rooftop unit included an adaptive humidification system to maintain comfortable humidity level throughout the year. The system was designed to maintain a slightly positive pressurization of the new suite.
Out Engineer also designed the control system for the new equipment. The equipment sequences of operation meet the requirements of the 2020 NYS Mechanical Code and the 2020 NYS Energy Code. To meet the requirement for system economizer, the equipment was designed to include a modulating enthalpy economizer packaged with an accessory power exhaust to maintain space pressurization.
